Permanent Jewelry Waiver

Please provide the following information before your appointment

Please review details page for information regarding our permanent jewelry services.

Details.

We use high quality metals for our chains such as 14K Gold Filled, 925 Sterling Silver, and 18K PVD stainless steal

14K Gold Fill is 100x more gold than gold plated jewelry. This is meant to add longevity to the piece while being a more affordable option compared to solid gold.

925 Silver which is 92.5% pure silver, while the rest is other metals added for durability.

Safety and Age:

If you have a pacemaker you should not undergo the welding procedure.
Anyone under 18 must have a parent or guardian present and sign our minor consent waiver. Children must be at least 10 years old and be able to sit completely still during the process.

Removal:
If you need to remove your jewelry for any reason, cut it off with scissors or wire cutters. To remove, cut the ring that holds the chain together.
Re-welds cost $15. Please book an appointment for re-welds as needed.

Wear and Tear:
Please note anklets and necklaces are more likely to get snagged, stretched, or broken, than bracelets. We do not replace lost or broken chains/pendants or offer refunds for permanent jewelry. Wear at your own risk, Karats Jewelry is not liable for stretched, snapped, or lost chains.

Please note that while rare, certain Ph levels in the skin can cause tarnishing with sterling silver or 14k Gold Filled.  Sweat, hair products, lotions, etc., may also cause Sterling Silver and 14K Gold Filled to discolor/tarnish.

Certain parts of the body may react differently to metal, depending on sweat and product used in the area. Solid gold will never tarnish, and is recommended if you have experience with gold fill or sterling silver tarnishing.

We choose delicate chains for their minimalist appearance and ease for everyday wear. Though they are considered permanent in that you cannot take them off, they are still delicate pieces of jewelry that can break with wear. Should your bracelet get caught on something and break or stretch we will do our best to repair it for you for a $15 minimum fee.

The first repair needed at the weld is covered for free. This is only if a weld snaps (not any other part of the chain) within 7 days of your appointment. After the first time, if a weld snaps, the $15 minimum fee will be charged.
